We at WAX IN THE CITY coined the term “Depiladora” and introduced it in Europe’s German-speaking countries. For the opening of our first waxing-only studio in 2005, we needed a name for the staff who served our male and female clients. But we didn’t think that “hair remover” sounded very appealing. We had to come up with a new idea. Finally, inspired by the Portuguese word depilação (hair removal), we settled on Depiladora.
We teach you everything you need to know about hair removal. You learn all about hair, waxing methods and hygiene – and also how to properly deal and interact with clients.
Once you’ve been trained as an expert, you’ll do your job with loving attention to detail and give your clients velvety-soft, silky-smooth skin. You’ll use a warm wax formulation, which is specially made for WAX IN THE CITY, to wax all body areas (of both women and men).

As a receptionist, your place of work is right at the front of the studio. Which means that you play a very important role in representing and communicating WAX IN THE CITY.
You greet clients arriving in the studio and listen to their wishes. You also reply to queries that arrive by phone or email. This makes you a direct source of information about our products and services. After we’ve acquainted you with our studio software, you also coordinate the sessions, manage the waiting list and calculate how long clients will have to wait to be served, and also prepare the daily tallies. You act as the interface between the studio head, staff and management, and help with inventories and accounting. As a receptionist, you are also in charge of the studio and its staff along with the administrative tasks this involves (for example, keeping track of who works when).
